As part of the sixth and final iteration of the project and exhibition present tense: wāhine twi aotearoa currently on show in pōneke Wellington at Enjoy Contemporary art space, the gallery hosted a morning kōrero with design students.
To record the current landscape of women* in design and give visibility to the unsung diversity of Aotearoa design, Designers Speak (Up) made an open call in early 2019 to all designers, artists, and educators from the Directory of Women* Designers to design a poster using the medium to explore and address any issue social, cultural, or political issue of their choice.
Kimberley’s response to this open call was to address the topics surrounding representation, racism/micro-aggression, and visibility in New Zealand. With the opportunity to talk about her poster at Enjoy Contemporary art space.
